Story Collection
The four stories in the collection feature the children Kit and Teal, as well as the mischievous Crab, daring Flounder, attentive Gull and many other beach inhabitants. Each story is packed with fun, bravery and excitement.

In this, the second book in the On The Beach series, Kit and Teal have a big challenge on their hands in an entertaining story with an environmental message.

On a winter's day, while on the beach making sand sculptures, Kit and Teal are unexpectedly interrupted by an amazing, apple-eating polar bear. Kit and Teal must hide their new friend from Mum, feed and bathe it, and help it get home safely.

The children Kit and Teal appear in all On The Beach stories. Both are lovers of nature. Teal is older, kind, smart, brave and patient. Kit is Teal's brother, a little impetuous at times but he always means well. They live in a terraced house with Mum, overlooking the sea.
A short ride on the number 34 bus and Kit and Teal are soon at the beach and close to the other characters in the On The Beach stories, such as Crab, Gull, Lobster, Otter and Flounder.
Crab
The mischievous and ever-hungry Crab appears in all four stories in "Story Collection" and in two, yet-to-be-published stories. Crab is often guided by his stomach and common sense has yet to be mastered.
Gull
Gull is the one-legged, wise and brave guardian of the beach. Gull looks out for all the creatures who inhabit the beach and he appears in all four stories in "Story Collection".
Otter
Otter is the quick-thinking, fast-moving problem solver among the beach dwellers. She is always there to help out when any creature is in trouble.
Flounder
Flounder is shy and lacking in self-confidence, unwilling to go it alone. He features strongly in "Flounder Rises Up" in "Story Collection".
